Job description

Overview
This is for our Durbin Park Hospital. Interviews will be conducted at UF Flagler Hospital 400 Health Park Blvd. St. Augustine, Florida 32086
PRN (as needed) varied shifts
To be fully engaged in providing security services to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors to UF
Health.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains required certifications, licensing, weapons qualifications, and training to maintain professional competency required for the position. (15%)
  • Responds to all emergencies and disasters which may require the officer to remain on the property until the emergency or disaster is terminated. (15%)
  • Makes rounds on campus as directed and coordinates with law enforcement, fire department, or medical staff for
    assistance. (10%)
  • Responds to active threats involving the use of dangerous weapons which threaten the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors. (20%)
  • Monitors entrances and exits to ensure authorized persons are allowed entry into the facility. (5%)
  • Conducts escorts of patients, staff, and visitors. (5%)
  • Conducts escorts of disruptive individuals in the emergency department off the premises. (5%)
  • Warns violators of the policy for loitering, smoking, and carrying prohibited items. (5%)
  • Investigates and prepares security incident reports on incidents and suspicious activities. (5%)
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor within job scope

Qualifications
Education / Training
  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferences:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience Requirements
  • Over five (5) years Law Enforcement, Military Police or Military Combat Unit

Preferences:
10 years Law Enforcement or Military, Military Police or Military Combat Unit. Four-year degree
from accredited college or university.
Certificates/Licenses/Registration
  • Valid Florida or Georgia Driver License with a clean record, or violations not exceeding
    maximum points as provided in hospital policy.
  • State of Florida Class D Security Officer License and maintain current status.
  • State of Florida Class G Security Officer License and maintain current status.
  • International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) Basic Level Certification (must be completed within 90 days of employment).
