Job description

We are seeking an experienced, proactive Director of Security to lead security operations at an elite, luxury property in the heart of Brickell. In this high-visibility position, you will safeguard the property, its assets, and residents/guests while delivering top-tier customer service. You will direct a dedicated team of security professionals, streamline operational processes, and set the standard for security excellence in luxury hospitality.

What You’ll Do1. Leadership amp; Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of security supervisors, officers, and support personnel.

  • Manage scheduling and staffing to ensure optimal, seamless coverage for daily operations, special events, and emergencies.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews, offer constructive feedback, and champion continuous staff development.

2. Operational Mastery amp; Client Satisfaction
  • Design and execute tailored security strategies that align with the client’s high standards and unique property needs.

  • Proactively monitor security trends, assess emerging risks, and adjust protocols to stay ahead of potential issues.

  • Maintain an active physical presence on-site to ensure white-glove service standards are consistently met.

3. Compliance, Safety amp; Risk Mitigation
  • Enforce compliance with state/local laws, industry regulations, and internal company policies.

  • Oversee and refine emergency response plans, disaster readiness protocols, and incident reporting.

  • Partner with local law enforcement, emergency services, and community stakeholders to build strong collaborative networks.

4. Training, Tech amp; Continuous Improvement
  • Identify skill gaps and lead ongoing training on threat mitigation, de-escalation, emergency response, and concierge-level guest relations.

  • Utilize security management software and modern hardware to maximize operational efficiency.

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver regular analytical reports to senior leadership and client stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience: 5+ years in security operations, including 2+ years in a supervisory or management role (experience in luxury residential, high-end commercial, or hospitality environments is highly preferred).

  • Licensing: Active Florida Class D Security License required. Advanced certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) are a strong plus.

  • Skills: Outstanding leadership, de-escalation, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.

  • Tech Savvy: Proficient with modern security technologies, access control systems, and management software.

  • Legal Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Florida state and local private security regulations.

  • Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as operational demands require.
