Job description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Director of Security to join one of our clients’ luxury properties in Brickell, Florida. In this key role, you will oversee all security operations to protect the property, assets, and staff. You will lead a team, improve processes, and maintain high service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Management:

- Lead, mentor, and supervise security personnel, supervisors, and support staff.

- Ensure adequate staffing for different security tasks, based on client needs and operations.

- Perform regular performance reviews, give feedback, and identify training opportunities.

2. Operational Excellence:

- Create and implement plans, strategies, and procedures to improve security service effectiveness.

- Work with clients to understand their security needs and adjust services to meet them, maintaining high satisfaction.

- Track security trends, incidents, and risks to update strategies proactively.

3. Resource Management:

- Allocate personnel, equipment, and technology to ensure proper deployment.

- Manage scheduling to cover all security needs, including events and emergencies.

4. Compliance and Safety:

- Ensure adherence to industry regulations, laws, and company policies.

- Develop safety protocols, emergency plans, and incident reporting procedures.

5. Relationship Building:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, law enforcement, and other stakeholders.

6. Training and Development:

- Identify training needs and organize programs to improve staff skills and professionalism.

- Conduct regular training on procedures, protocols, and best practices.

7. Performance Metrics and Reporting:

- Set and monitor KPIs to evaluate operations and identify improvements.

- Prepare reports on performance, incidents, and trends for management and clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Fluent in English & Spanish is mandatory.

- At least 5 years in security operations, including 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

- Florida Class D security license required; additional certifications like CPP or PSP are a plus.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate a diverse team.

- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Proficient in security management software and technology.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

- Knowledge of Florida security laws and regulations.

- Willing to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
