Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Director of Safety & Security is a dynamic position responsible for the oversight of critical infrastructure of Nashville Soccer Club, including personnel, multiple facilities, and both domestic and international events. The Director of Safety & Security will work closely with club staff, law enforcement, and league personnel on matters of safety and security for all stakeholders. The Director of Security will have oversight of venue safety and security procedures, contract security, access control, and physical security systems.
The Director of Safety & Security will have oversight over security planning and operations of GEODIS Park and Vanderbilt Health Training Center.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Venue Security
    • Oversight of all digital camera systems and record retention
    • Management of 24/7 internal security staff, including Manager/Coordinator and policies/procedures.
    • Creation and oversight of venue safety plans, emergency action plans, and event action plans.
    • Conduct and oversee training and tabletop emergency exercises for building, company, and events.
    • Develop building access plans and systems.
  • Event Security
    • Establish positive and collaborative relationships with Police, Fire, EMS, and other governmental agencies and schedule services as needed.
    • Creation of Event plans, staffing plans and dot maps.
    • Contract administrator of Event Staff security personnel.
    • Oversight of special event security planning, staffing and operations for all events hosted by the club.
    • Point of contact for contract and HR functions of special duty personnel, contract security, security vendors, and other governmental agency personnel.
    • Manage match day equipment including touchless screening equipment.
    • Work with Event services staff to address concerns and for policy enforcement.
    • Fan policies enforcement for all events including registered supporter groups.
    • Execute action plans for any inclement weather during matches and major events.
  • Overall management, administration, and assessment of security operations.
  • Other security functions as assigned.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years working in sports & entertainment or large venues in a security function.
  • Bachelor's degree in law enforcement, Sport/Event Management, Law, or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with event technology, incident reporting, and other physical security systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication, interview, and collaboration experience.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years working in sports & entertainment venues in a security function.
  • Law enforcement contacts on the federal, state, and local level.
  • Command of Large-scale special event coordination with security and local law enforcement.
  • Advanced knowledge of event logistics, planning, budgeting, and implementation
  • Prior knowledge and experience with Safety act certification.
  • Multi-lingual or Bi-lingual English and Spanish.
  • Professional certifications (CSSP, AVSS, CPP, etc.) in Security

Work environment:
  • Flexible work schedule inclusive of nights, weekends, and holidays required.
  • Bending, lifting, and repeated movements including lifting 15-20 pounds.
