Job SummaryBASIC FUNCTION
The Enterprise Control Room (ECR) is the command center for physical security operations, proactively mitigating risks and safeguarding company assets, personnel, and brand reputation. The Enterprise Security Operations Coordinator (ESOC) II coordinates the processes of the ECR and is responsible for real-time monitoring of physical security, coordinating incident response and investigation, and conducting threat assessment, utilizing advanced technology and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a secure environment. The ESOC II will also perform the role of security intelligence analyst, gathering and analyzing information to further identify and assess potential threats. The ESOC II role leads the Enterprise Control Room when management is unavailable, and assists with the oversight of satellite corporate security operations centers. It also performs ongoing quality assurance activities to ensure systems and staff are performing optimally.
NOTE: the hours for this role are 9:00pm until 5:00am (Monday through Friday).

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in physical security operations or a related field.
  • At least one year of work in a security operations center, national or global.
  • Strong understanding of physical security technology and security systems.
  • Ability to identify and assess potential threats.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a challenging environment.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Availability for emergency and incident response, except during approved paid time off, 24 hours/7days weekly/365 days a year.
  • Occasional travel to other company locations.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a leadership role with sound decision-making skills.
  • Certifications in physical security, such as PSP, CPP, or PCI.
  • Experience with intelligence gathering and analysis tools and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • City of Chicago Fire Safety Director Certification.

~ KEY FUNCTIONS ~

  • Monitoring and Surveillance: Maintain vigilant oversight of security video surveillance, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, building life safety and automation, and other physical security sensors. Proactively identify and assess suspicious activities, anomalies, and potential threats. Dispatch security personnel or initiate emergency protocols in response to alarms and security breaches.
  • Incident Response and Management: Coordinate and execute timely and effective responses to security and safety incidents, ensuring the safety of personnel and minimizing asset loss. Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency services, and internal stakeholders as needed. Conduct thorough investigations, document findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Threat Assessment and Risk Mitigation: Continuously evaluate physical security risks and vulnerabilities through intelligence gathering, data analysis, and trend monitoring. Develop and implement proactive security measures to mitigate identified risks. Stay abreast of emerging threats and security best practices.
  • Technology and Systems Management: Ensure the optimal operational functioning and configuration of PSOC technology and security systems. Conduct regular audits and maintenance to identify and address system vulnerabilities. Stay current on company and industry technological advancements and recommend system upgrades and modifications as needed.
  • Security Intelligence Analysis: Gather information from various sources, such as open-source intelligence, social media, and internal reports. Analyze information to identify potential threats to the organization's physical security. Prepare intelligence reports and briefings for management and other stakeholders.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including security personnel, facilities operations, HR, Ethics and Compliance, IT, and law enforcement.
  • ECR Coordination: Ensure staff are versed in Protection and Security policies and procedures. Conduct new hire and ongoing training. Evaluate the performance of ECR staff. Remain on call 24 hours to support emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity efforts (Except during approved paid time off). Complete relevant training and education as directed by management. Uphold relationships and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
