Job description

Join a dynamic healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where your expertise in quality improvement can make a meaningful impact. This role involves managing and analyzing data from various internal and external sources to support patient care and system-wide quality initiatives.
General Summary
The Quality Improvement Analyst applies statistical knowledge and technical skills to collect, aggregate, and analyze data, communicating findings to diverse stakeholders. Collaboration with medical staff and system departments is key to driving continuous improvement efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review data from multiple systems to identify trends affecting quality, cost, and service delivery.
  • Submit data electronically to external agencies as required.
  • Research benchmarks, best practices, and standards to evaluate organizational performance.
  • Prepare and analyze statistical reports related to quality improvement activities.
  • Communicate findings and progress to stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating improvement plans alongside team members.
  • Coordinate documentation and re-evaluation of improvement efforts to refine action steps.
  • Serve as a resource for department leaders and staff regarding quality improvement standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Support preparation and execution of regulatory surveys.
Education A bachelor's degree with a focus on healthcare is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. Registered Nurses with healthcare experience and computer skills will also be considered. Experience At least three years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to interpret financial and statistical reports. Familiarity with Microsoft programs, especially Excel and Visio, and internet research for clinical benchmarks is required. Certification/License Licensed Registered Nurse status is preferred. Certification as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is desirable. Mental/Physical Requirements This role requires considerable mental focus, with most time spent sitting or moving throughout the facility. Light lifting up to 15 pounds and computer work are typical. Flexibility, organization, and the ability to work under stress are important. Working Conditions Potential exposure to infectious diseases, radiation, anti-neoplastic agents, and occasional hostile individuals may occur. The environment includes minimal physical discomfort and frequent auditory distractions.
