Job description

Operations Strategist (CPG)
Jampack AI • Full-time • New York City (Hybrid) • Reports to CEO & CTO
About Jampack
Jampack is the AI-native operating system for wholesale. Wholesale is 8X the size of e-commerce, yet runs on archaic rails. We're building AI agents that power the entire order-to-invoice lifecycle - from order receipt to freight to invoice. Our agents run the backend for some of the fastest-growing CPG brands, including Fishwife, immi, Sanzo, and PATH.
We're backed by Maveron (Starbucks founder's fund), and we're a small team building fast.
The Role
AI is only as good as the context you give it - and in CPG, that context is deep, operational, and hard-won. We're hiring our first Operations Strategist - a role that sits at the intersection of customer discovery, implementation, and customer success. You'll be the bridge between the brands we work with and the engineers building their automations. Brands trust you because you've been in the trenches - you know what it takes to run a CPG operation, and how to make it better.
This is part strategy, part project management, part customer success - and it's a role you'll help define as our first hire in this function, working directly with our CEO and CTO.
What You'll Do
  • Lead discovery with prospective and current customers - mapping their existing operations, systems, and workflows to understand where automation can have the most impact
  • Liaise between customers and engineering during implementation, translating operational needs into clear technical requirements and translating technical constraints back into terms customers understand
  • Own implementation project management end-to-end: scoping, timelines, milestones, and keeping everyone aligned on status
  • Provide ongoing customer support post-launch - troubleshooting issues, fielding questions, and escalating where needed
  • Offer strategic input on how customers can optimize their systems and workflows, not just digitize their current-state process
  • Feed learnings back to engineering and product so what we hear from customers shapes the roadmap
  • Push automation further - bring an automations-first mindset to every implementation, always looking for the next manual step that shouldn't be manual

What You Bring
  • 4+ years of experience in operations at a fast-growing CPG brand, in supply chain consulting, or with a fractional operations group
  • Working fluency with the systems that run a CPG brand - ERP, EDI, WMS, IMS, and how they connect
  • A point of view on what "good" operations look like, not just what "current" operations look like - you can look at a brand's setup and tell them how to run it better
  • Deep expertise in using AI to automate CPG workflows, with real hands-on comfort in tools like Claude or Codex - an automations-first mindset, always asking "how can we get AI to do this?"
  • Comfort acting as the translator between non-technical customers and engineers
  • Strong project management instincts - you can juggle multiple customer implementations at once without dropping the ball
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Based in or willing to work from NYC, hybrid/in-office
  • Comfortable with occasional travel for trade shows and customer visits

Nice to Have
  • Hands-on experience implementing or administering a specific ERP, EDI, WMS, or IMS platform
  • Early-stage startup experience

Why This Role
You'll be the first person in this seat, which means real ownership over how Jampack does discovery and implementation from here on out. You'll work closely with the founding team, and the systems and playbooks you build now will become the model as we scale.
Compensation
Competitive salary and equity, commensurate with experience.
