Summary
The purpose of the Registration and Records Office is to maintain student and course records. We maintain the academic records of the institution, schedule and register students for classes, process grades, provide transcripts, schedule space and times for classes, etc. Student workers in Registration and Records are key in supporting the department and our staff. We are focused on excellent customer service and student success! We are seeking qualified student workers to join our team!

Essential Functions
- Answer registration related questions clearly and effectively in person and over the phone
- Serve as welcoming first point of contact and help direct Huntington Building visitors to the correct office/department they are seeking
- Clearly communicate instructions for the submission of various forms and requests
- Sort and distribute mail, documents and applications to appropriate staff members and areas
- Direct customers to appropriate staff members when needed. This includes transferring calls and providing accurate contact information such as phone numbers and email addresses within the Registrar's Office and other campus offices.
- Assist staff members with sorting, data entry, scanning, organizing, filing, creating documentation and perform research when needed. Other tasks, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; both in person and over the phone
- Experience working with computers and learning new programs
- General knowledge of the BGSU campus
- Timely and accurate, fast learner, detail oriented
- Ability to perform tasks independently and assist with training new student employees
- Must have reliable transportation for communing to worksite. Campus shuttle currently does not stop at the Huntington Building worksite
- Reliability, punctuality and commitment to established work shifts
- Occasional light lifting
- Must understand and abide by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations
Additional Information
- Students will report to the Registration Operations Coordinator
- Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm and students must be available to work shifts within these hours
- Evening and weekend hours are not available
- We are located off the main campus of BGSU at the Huntington Building; 1851 N. Research Drive. Reliable transportation for commuting from campus/home to work is required. Campus Shuttles are not currently available for this site.
