Corrugated Sales Specialist

Our Corrugated Sales Specialist will be responsible for supporting field sales organization in growing and closing profitable sales of corrugated packaging solutions. This position provides expertise and skill to field sales reps in how to increase sales with new and existing customers by creating value through custom corrugated designs, finding cost savings, and improving packaging processes. The Specialist will drive success and make improvements in alignment with the group strategy for increasing profitability, growing sales and margins, and reducing costs associated with our corrugated packaging business.

Prepare and present technical proposals of how Veritiv's products can meet the customer's needs and be integrated and implemented with their systems and equipment. Supports unit sales plan through pre-sales and/or post-sales technical consulting activities. Responsible for gaining an understanding of customer's business and determining customer's system and product needs. Visit and survey major customers, prospects facilities and develop cost reduction alternatives to current customer practices also aid in presenting the new concepts and alternatives to customer. Ensure that corrugated and folding carton sales pipeline is maintained with appropriate dollar value of opportunities to achieve the sales growth objectives for assigned territory. Develop new business in the assigned geography by targeting key accounts in collaboration with sales managers and with field sales representatives in customer accounts. Work to increase profitable sales within corporation in collaboration with Design Centers, Sales Managers, Sales Representatives (all segments), Sourcing, Logistics/Operation Managers and other Sales Specialists.

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and technically challenging assignments simultaneously. Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business priorities and assignments. Must be creative and innovative. Takes initiative, strong desire learn/expand skills. Position requires 50-75% travel. Sales experience working with fiber based packaging including paperboard, corrugated and laminated fiber/film substrates required. Experience in corrugated packaging design and graphics preferred.

5-10 years of related job experience. High School Diploma/GED Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Physical Requirements: A significant portion of the job responsibilities will require computer work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for long periods of time. The position also requires frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds. The position requires work in an office as well as travel to customers, suppliers, group meetings, etc.
