Job description

The Komori Color Pressman is responsible for operating and maintaining Komori printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials according to customer specifications. This position ensures accurate color reproduction, proper press setup, and efficient production while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor Komori offset printing presses for multi-color print jobs.

  • Set up press for production including plates, ink, paper stock, and press adjustments.

  • Maintain proper color registration, ink density, and print quality throughout the run.

  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press equipment.

  • Inspect printed materials to ensure they meet company and customer quality standards.

  • Troubleshoot press issues such as color variation, misregistration, or mechanical problems.

  • Maintain accurate production records including job tickets and run quantities.

  • Coordinate with prepress, bindery, and production staff to ensure efficient workflow.

  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies in the pressroom.

  • Reduce waste and maximize efficiency during production runs.

Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 2–5 years experience operating Komori or similar offset printing presses preferred.

  • Strong understanding of offset printing processes, color control, and registration.

  • Ability to read and follow job tickets, specifications, and production schedules.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot press problems.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
