Job description

Summary
The Sheetfed Press Operator performs all operations necessary for successful operation of an 8-Color press. The individual must have comprehensive knowledge of sheetfed press operations and be experienced with:
  • Press operation and maintenance
  • Achieving and maintaining critical color match and registration
  • Inks and coatings
  • Finishing requirements

Skills and Abilities
  • Possesses an extensive understanding of print, color, and troubleshooting common press issues.
  • Performs all duties with a high degree of skill and minimal supervision.
  • Understands job specifications and determines the most appropriate settings to run the job successfully.
  • Produces quality printing in a timely manner through efficient operation.
  • Performs quality control checks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Troubleshoots and resolves press problems.
  • Performs press maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, blanket and roller replacement and periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Acts in a safe manner at all times. Ensures that crewmembers operate all equipment in a safe, effective manner.
  • Maintains proper inventory levels and reports shortages to management.
  • Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, government regulations and general trade periodicals.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from employees and management.
  • Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned.

Education/Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Sheetfed Press Operator. Ability to pass a Color Test is required.
  • Experience on the following presses desired: Komori Familiarity with Komori press desired, UV ink.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Requirements
  • The employee is required to sit, stand, kneel, bend, twist and crouch.
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.
  • The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Schedule
Monday-Saturday 6 am - 6 pm 3 day work week alternating every 4 weeks, and willingness to work overtime/extra days as workload demands it.
