Job description

PCG is seeking an experienced Curriculum Development Specialist for its Corporate Strategic Development operations based in Lenexa, Kansas. Curriculum Specialists are part of a team that shapes and drives a learning culture at PCG.  Their primary objective is researching, developing, and producing diverse educational programs, ensuring alignment with learning objectives, and enhancing existing educational offerings. This role is responsible for partnering with event owners to develop instructor-led and virtual education and other learning opportunities in the most effective modality for all PCG employees by creating training resources to meet the organization's needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts to identify and gather training and development needs and solutions where needed creating engaging content.
  • Assess business situations and develop goals and training/development strategies to improve business results and performance.
  • Responsible for the content development of formal training workshops and job aids.
  • Develop and implement curriculum strategies to meet educational goals.
  • Proofread and edit educational materials for accuracy and coherence.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure curriculum alignment.
  • Educate staff on new curriculum developments and best practices.
  • Evaluating program effectiveness, engagement, and alignment through a variety of assessment, measurements, and observation methods.
  • Oversee content development processes from inception to completion, demonstrating strong project management skills.
  • Develop learning solutions that include session materials, courseware, leader guides, associated reinforcements, and assessments.
  • Engage our learners with crafted content that conveys concepts and processes in an impactful, engaging, and memorable way.
  • Able to logically organize and transform complex information into professionally designed, functional, and effective learning programs.

Basic Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience with the editing, technical writing, design, and development of instructional material.
  • At least 3 years of experience in courseware and/or technical documentation development experience, and design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, project management, curriculum development, or a related field.
  • Exhibits a high level of emotional intelligence, maintaining the ability to give and receive specific, constructive feedback.
  • Strong project management skills; planning, managing, prioritizing and scheduling projects with minimal supervision.
  • Displays experience managing a course development project from end to end.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively collaborate and consult with senior leaders, business partners, internal customers, and colleagues.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Suite.
  • Demonstrated administrative experience in learning management systems.
  • Technically inclined and able to adapt to new technologies with ease.
  • Experience working with appropriate development technologies (Adobe, Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia Studio, or similar).
  • Strong and effective communicator with strong verbal, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Willing to travel up to 10%.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with the construction industry is preferred.
  • Local to the Kansas City Metro Area is preferred.
