Job description

The Assistant Vice President, Corporate Development candidate will actively assist and lead key workstreams across the origination, evaluation, due diligence, structuring and execution of Life and Annuity M&A and reinsurance deals for Fortitude Re globally. The role partners closely with corporate development senior leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and external advisors.

This role will be based in our Jersey City office on a hybrid basis.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage the coordination of the new business deal lifecycle by collaborating with cross-functional teams including Corporate Development, Investment, Actuarial, Finance, Tax, Legal, Inforce Management, and Operations to ensure key milestones, approvals, and deliverables are completed on schedule and in accordance with established processes.
  • Develop effective L&A presentation materials for client presentations, demonstrating product knowledge and showcasing Fortitude's abilities.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with bankers, brokers, and external advisors to support ongoing business development efforts.
  • Assist in the evaluation of new business opportunities.
  • Provide analytical deals support, including but not limited to conducting market research, constructing financial models and other ad-hoc analysis.
  • Partner with senior management team in both the formal strategic planning process as well as the ongoing evolution of Fortitude's strategic plan.

What You Will Have:

  • Minimum 7+ years of work experience.
  • Experience in life & annuity reinsurance transactions.
  • Preferred - Graduate level degree or equivalent - ASA / FSA.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
