Your Impact
PEARCE RENEWABLES is looking for Renewables Control Center Technicians for our Remote Operations Center (ROC). The Renewables Control Center Technician monitors and controls commercial and scale utility-scale wind, solar, and Battery Energy Storage facilities. This position is responsible for operating, dispatching, and monitoring the status of all plant systems on a continuous basis to ensure that the plant meets its generating requirements while operating in a safe and efficient manner.
Core Responsibilities
  • Identify and ticket plant communication, equipment outages, and under-production issues using SCADA, DAS, and a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Function as the primary point of contact with Balancing Authorities, Transmission Operators, Distribution Operators, and Scheduling Entities while utilizing three-part communication.
  • Maintain logs of solar plant operations including notification of events and communications in accordance with Remote Operations Center (ROC) procedures.
  • Schedule planned and unplanned outages with Scheduling Entities.
  • Initiate responses to plant changes, site trips, feeder circuit trips, loss of communications, etc.

Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Core Experience
  • Experience working as a control room operator for renewable generation.
  • Power generation experience, wind or solar background preferred.
  • Ability to work with different management styles and in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment under tight deadlines and demanding customers (internal and external).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to solve problems of both a technical and operational nature.
  • Knowledge of commercial and utility-scale solar electrical generating facility design, operations, and typical maintenance issues.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment where decisions directly impact personnel safety and equipment reliability.
  • Strong computer skills-mastery of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS) applications is required.

Physical/Work Environment
At Pearce safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required for 24-7 coverage. Night operations - 6PM-6AM
  • Position requires routine personnel interaction with Remote Operations Center (ROC) staff on all shifts.
  • Routine operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Frequent oral and written communications.

Compensation: $23.00-$33.00 hourly/DOE
