What is a cooler?

A Cooler is responsible for maintaining order and de-escalating conflicts in bars, clubs, or other venues. Unlike traditional bouncers, Coolers focus on diplomacy and conflict resolution before resorting to physical intervention. Their goal is to create a safe and enjoyable environment for patrons and staff.

What are the primary responsibilities of a cooler during a typical shift?

As a Cooler, your primary responsibility is to monitor the atmosphere within the venue and proactively address potentially disruptive behavior before it escalates. This often involves discreetly observing patrons, intervening in tense situations, and working closely with security staff and management to maintain a safe, welcoming environment. You may also be tasked with checking IDs, helping to enforce venue policies, and communicating effectively with bartenders and waitstaff. The role requires constant vigilance and good judgment to ensure everyone can enjoy their experience, making you a key part of the team’s safety strategy.
