Job description

Job Title: Tent OX Operator

Department: Tent Installation / Field Operations

Reports To: Installation Manager or Lead Tent Installer

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

The Tent OX Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the Tent OX system — a specialized articulated loader equipped with 10+ tent-specific attachments designed for the tent and event rental industry. This role dramatically accelerates tent installation and teardown by handling heavy materials, driving/pulling stakes, pulling roof panels, pushing center poles, and moving thousands of pounds of equipment with minimal crew support. The operator works as a key member of the installation team to complete jobs faster, safer, and with less physical strain on the crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the Tent OX articulated loader and all attachments (stake driver/puller, material handler, roof panel puller, pole pusher, etc.) on job sites.
  • Transport, load, unload, and position tent components, frames, poles, and materials quickly and accurately.
  • Drive and pull stakes at high volume (e.g., 200+ per hour) while maintaining precision and site safety.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, maintenance, and cleaning.
  • Collaborate closely with the lead installer and crew to follow job plans, CAD layouts, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety standards, especially when working on grass, turf, or uneven terrain (using turf tires as needed).
  • Assist with general tent setup/teardown tasks as required when the machine is not in use.
  • Travel to event sites and work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional overnights.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment, articulated loaders, skid steers, or similar machinery (preferred; on-the-job training on Tent OX available for strong candidates).
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain DOT medical card (CDL not required).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
  • Physical stamina to work outdoors in all weather conditions; ability to lift 50+ lbs and climb in/out of equipment.
  • Reliable, safety-focused mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Team player who can work independently when operating the machine.
  • Willingness to travel and work weekends/evenings during peak event season.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
