Job description

Lead Building Engineer Job Summary:

The Lead Building Engineer performs building operations, customer service, and community enhancement. We’re looking for someone who will complete or assist with tasks related to electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and other trades within a commercial building. Daily duties will include working with the property management team to perform preventive maintenance, respond to service tickets, and provide a safe environment for building tenants and visitors.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • $35 per hour based on experience

PRIMARY BUILDING ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform building and systems inspections, making necessary modifications to building systems
  • Complete Preventive and Corrective Maintenance requests professionally
  • Work with vendors to complete contracted work orders to meet expectations
  • Maintain records, reports, and evaluations, and provide recommendations regarding necessary building maintenance operations
  • Identify and help to order parts, materials, equipment, and supplies that are needed
  • Manage Building Management System (BMS) / Energy Management System (EMS) as directed by Lead/Chief Engineer
  • Maintain a clean engineering shop, mechanical plant, mechanical rooms, and general appearance
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Perform related work as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 - 5 years maintaining equipment and systems in commercial buildings
  • Possess demonstrated high-level mechanical skills and abilities with HVAC equipment
  • High-level experience and skills in operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, installing, and repairing equipment
  • Basic technology skills necessary to manage work order applications on mobile phone and learn to operate Building Automation Systems
  • High School diploma or equivalent, and must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Occasionally work overtime to perform necessary repairs or maintenance that are necessary to complete during off-hours
  • Must meet the occupation requirements, such as lifting 50 lbs., walking distances, kneeling for 1 hour, and climbing ladders.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must possess a CFC Universal certification
