Job description

Job Summary 
As a Junior Cook, you will assist the kitchen team in the preparation, cooking, and plating of various dim sum and related dishes. Through on-the-job training, you will learn and develop traditional dim sum-making skills while ensuring all food produced meets the company’s standards for quality, taste, and food safety. 

Key Responsibilities 
Food Preparation & Cooking
  • Assist in the preparation and production of dim sum and other menu items. 
  • Follow recipes and instructions from the Head Chef or Senior Chefs. 
  • Handle ingredients, including cutting, marinating, and portioning. 
  • Support daily mise en place and replenishment of food supplies. 
Hygiene & Safety
  • Ensure all food items are stored and handled properly according to safety standards.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment. 
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene guidelines (e.g., HACCP standards).
  • Monitor the freshness and quality of ingredients. 
Teamwork & Training 
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service operations.
  • Be open to training and rotation across different dim sum preparation sections.
  • Follow kitchen instructions and support team members when required.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff in Mandarin or English to understand instructions, coordinate food preparation, and maintain workplace safety.
  • Preferably at least 1 year of experience in a Chinese kitchen.
