Job description

Cooking Teacher Assistant

- Provide a service for assisting in teaching children culinary skills

- Provide a service for assisting events centered around creativity and fostering skills in cooking

- Assist the teachers with their lessons and recipe reading in small groups

- Assist with recipe prep, classroom setup, and the cleanup and closing of the kitchen

- Engage and communicate with students and their families

- Assist with the prep, setup, and execution of private and public events

- Engage with event guests

- Keep up with kitchen maintenance during event (keeping kitchen tidy, dish duty, refresh any mise)

- Assist in the cleanup and closing of kitchen

*Assistants are scheduled to work events on a rotating basis 

Qualifications: High school diploma (or receiving diploma or equivalent within 1 year), responsible, energetic, able to work in fast-paced environment, basic understanding of cooking/know your way around the kitchen, able to work evenings and/or weekends, obtain CPR certification prior to employment

Not required but preferred: Experience working in food service, experience working with children, experience working in culinary arts
