Job description

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two (2) year college with an Associate's Degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a closely related field; OR
  • Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma AND two (2) years of experience in the preparation of food in large quantities; OR
  • Four (4) years of experience in the preparation of food in large quantities.
  • Civil Service position.

NOTE: Verifiable part-time experience as described above will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
DUTIES Supervising the planning and preparation of food in a school; plans menus, with due regard for nutritional values, acceptability and budgetary limitations. Maintains approved standards of sanitation, health and safety, as directed by policy. Supervises the maintenance of equipment used for food production. Orders, receives and stores stock and supplies used in the food service operations.
