Automated Business Solutions (ABS) is seeking an experienced and motivated Controller to join our leadership team in Warwick, Rhode Island.

Position Summary
The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial operations of the company and serve as a key member of the leadership team. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting strategic decision-making, and leading a team of four accounting professionals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger functions
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and management reports
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to leadership
  • Maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, banks, and other financial partners
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four accounting professionals
  • Support strategic planning and business growth initiatives

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Progressive accounting and financial management experience
  • Prior leadership or management experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • CPA designation is welcome but not required
  • Industry experience in office technology, service, distribution, or related industries is helpful but not required
