Job description

Modern Technology Services is seeking an experienced Lead Control4 & Home Automation Technician to join our growing team. We specialize in luxury residential smart home integration including Control4 automation, networking, audio video, surveillance, lighting control, security, and low voltage systems.

This position is ideal for a motivated technician who can independently lead projects, troubleshoot efficiently, maintain high installation standards, and provide excellent customer service in high end residential environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead residential low voltage and home automation projects from rough in through final installation
• Install, configure, and program Control4 systems
• Install and troubleshoot:
• Whole home audio video systems
• TVs and home theaters
• WiFi and networking equipment
• Security cameras
• Alarm systems
• Access control systems
• Lighting control systems
• Motorized shades
• Rack building and cable management
• Read blueprints and pre wire layouts
• Program and troubleshoot smart home systems
• Train customers on system usage and functionality
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, designers, and project managers
• Maintain clean, organized, high quality installations
• Manage job site workflow and assist junior technicians when needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 plus years of low voltage or AV integration experience
• Control4 programming experience required
• Experience with residential smart home systems
• Strong networking and WiFi troubleshooting skills
• Experience with AV installation and TV mounting
• Ability to terminate and test low voltage wiring
• Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, ladders, and construction environments
• Ability to lift 50 plus lbs
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Professional appearance and communication skills
• Control4 certification preferred
• Experience with OVRC preferred
• Rack fabrication and structured wiring experience preferred
• Luxury residential installation experience preferred
