Job description

SUMMARY:
Jenoptik Automotive manufactures standard and customized measurement products used in the industrial metrology world. We are searching for a highly productive Account Manager to support regional customers and will report to the President. This person will develop and support Stellantis, Linamar and Canada based customers (subject to change). Most travel will be in the US / Canada and Mexico. Overnight travel will be required. Opportunities also exist to travel internationally, which will require a valid US Passport. This person will work hybrid from a home office and potentially from AH office.
This position has primary responsibility for supporting and growing profitable Jenoptik Automotive sales and market share. The candidate for the position should have a passion and drive for success within the Manufacturing Industry and other industries that utilize our products and technologies. This position will require strategic, complex sales initiatives with a focus on products, services, systems, and solutions selling.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
  • Be the trusted technical advisor to our customers. Introduce and sell JENOPTIK solutions and Lifetime Services to both existing and new account prospects to achieve established goals and grow market share through solution selling.
  • Use and accurately maintain the company's CRM system for all customer and sales process data to ensure teamwork, collaboration, and global transparency towards providing an amazing customer experience.
  • Develop direct customer relationships using deep understanding of customers' business needs, production applications and technical language utilized in their environment.
  • Use consultative sales techniques and solutions that are differentiated to improve customer production quality control and production efficiency, based on JENOPTIK sales methods to uncover customer needs and solve difficult applications.
  • Work with Product Managers to expand the customer base in the territory
  • Provide an outstanding customer experience and accurately manage customer communications and JENOPTIK customer relationship with named accounts.
  • Sales budget and forecast planning for the business unit territory
  • Identify and qualify business and customer opportunities and/or threats; understand the account potential, competitors and position in the market and requirements for doing business.
  • Be responsible for new leads and potential opportunities for new and diverse product applications through continued product, industry, and client research.
  • Become proficient with the technical aspects of our product lines
  • Introduce JENOPTIK new products, solutions, systems and Lifetime Services with a sense of urgency and entrepreneurialism.
  • Present/discuss technical information regarding the product
  • Develop strategic account plans for target locations and opportunities
  • Pursue Sales Excellence; develop skills, knowledge and competencies to continuously improve performance. Complete annual performance objectives and performance reviews with Director of Sales.
  • Capitalize on development and training opportunities to position yourself for highest levels of performance recognition and continued career development.
  • Keep abreast of market and competitive activity; recommend actions in areas where competitor activities are having a negative impact on sales goals.
  • Participate in trade shows, prepare and give marketing/sales presentations to technical societies, etc
  • Support the monthly forecast of the business unit
  • Gain expert understanding of the market shares and customer base for the business unit in the territory
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
  • Communicate customer requirements effectively to internal resources

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in machine tools/inspection equipment/engineered capital equipment
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum of five years in a key account/sales/applications Engineering position.
  • Experience in metrology, machine tool or similar field within the automotive industry.
  • Understanding of business processes and revenue generation.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Must possess soft skills for conflict resolution and negotiation, personal effectiveness, creative problem solving and be a self-starter
  • Expertise in dealing with people effectively, particularly in multi-cultural situations.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • US Citizenship or Qualified U.S. Worker
