Constructability Coordinator III
Location- Birmingham, AL
Contract- 1 Year
Client- Southern Company services.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Constructability Coordinator III to support utility and heavy industrial construction projects within a power and energy environment.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in heavy industrial or commercial construction and will support project planning, constructability reviews, outage coordination, contractor management, scheduling, quality assurance, and construction execution activities.
This role works closely with project teams, contractors, vendors, engineering groups, and utility operations personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support project scope development, cost estimates, and construction schedules
  • Participate in field visits, constructability reviews, and outage planning
  • Develop construction plans and support contractor bid packages
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, engineering, and operations teams
  • Monitor project progress, quality, and compliance with utility procedures
  • Support contract closeout and as-built documentation activities
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and utility standards
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in:
    • Heavy Industrial Construction
    • Utility Construction
    • Commercial Construction
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Construction practices
    • OSHA regulations
    • Utility project execution
    • Contractor coordination
    • Scheduling and outage planning
Preferred Qualifications
  • Utility or power industry experience
  • Experience with transmission, substation, or power generation projects
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools
  • Knowledge of rigging and lifting methods
