Contract Registered Nurse (RN)Job Title

Full Time/PRN

Full Time (Temporary 12-Week Assignment)

Job Summary

Provides high-quality nursing care across multiple assigned units to support staffing needs. Operates on an 84-hour rotation while delivering patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Maintains flexibility to float between departments within competency while ensuring safe and efficient clinical operations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Mississippi
  • Minimum three (3) years recent bedside clinical experience (within last five years)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working across multiple clinical units or service lines
  • ACLS or specialty certifications as required by assignment
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work required 84-hour rotation (seven 12-hour shifts per 14-day period), including weekends and holidays
  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Adapt to assignments across multiple departments based on staffing needs
  • Maintain safe medication administration and accurate documentation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Float between units within competency and training requirements
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Serve as charge nurse or preceptor when assigned
  • Maintain attendance and performance expectations throughout assignment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs independently; >50 lbs with assistance/devices
  • Assist with patient repositioning and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
  • Manual dexterity for clinical procedures and computer use; adequate vision, hearing, and speech
