This role will serve as a trusted advisor to clients by leading benefits strategy, administration, compliance, and operational support across domestic and global employee populations.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of progressive benefits experience, including hands-on experience supporting global benefits programs, vendor management, employee escalations, open enrollment, compliance initiatives, and benefits operations within complex and fast-growing organizations. This individual must be comfortable working independently, managing multiple clients simultaneously, and partnering directly with executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead administration and strategic oversight of U.S. and global employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, wellness, and leave programs
  • Manage and support global benefits operations across multiple countries and regions, including coordination with international brokers and vendors
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client leadership regarding benefits strategy, escalations, renewals, compliance, and employee experience
  • Partner with brokers, carriers, TPAs, payroll providers, and global vendors to ensure effective program administration and issue resolution
  • Support annual open enrollment processes including employee communications, system configuration validation, testing, and reporting
  • Provide hands-on support with leave of absence and disability programs including FMLA, ADA, state leaves, parental leave, and global leave requirements where applicable
  • Analyze benefits utilization, trends, benchmarking data, and vendor performance to provide strategic recommendations to clients
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125, and international benefits requirements
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, global expansions, and organizational changes impacting employee benefit programs
  • Maintain and audit HRIS and benefits systems including Workday, ADP Workforce Now, UKG, Rippling, BambooHR, or similar platforms
  • Develop SOPs, process documentation, employee-facing materials, and benefits communications
  • Support payroll and finance teams with benefits deductions, invoices, carrier reconciliations, and reporting
  • Participate in client meetings, strategic planning discussions, and operational reviews as a subject matter expert
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration, benefits consulting, or total rewards
  • Required experience managing or supporting global benefits programs
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. benefits compliance and employee leave regulations
  • Experience supporting multi-state and international employee populations
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience partnering directly with executive leadership and external vendors
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a consultative and client-service mindset
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and HRIS/benefits platforms
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous consulting or outsourced HR/Benefits support experience
  • Experience in high-growth, startup, or rapidly scaling organizations
  • CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or related certifications preferred
  • Experience with global benefits brokers and international compliance coordination
  • Familiarity with benefits integrations, EDI feeds, and payroll reconciliation processes
Work Environment
  • Remote-based role with flexibility to support clients across multiple time zones
  • Ability to support multiple concurrent engagements in a consulting environment
  • Occasional travel may be required based on client needs
What Success Looks Like
  • Delivering high-quality client support with minimal oversight
  • Building strong partnerships with clients, brokers, and internal teams
  • Improving operational efficiency and employee experience within benefits programs
  • Providing proactive, strategic recommendations that support client growth and compliance
