AHIP is looking for an experienced Contract and Compliance Specialist, to join their team! Position Summary: This position is responsible for supporting the in-house legal team in its work in a variety of areas, including: (1) throughout the contracting process and (2) with respect to enterprise compliance functions across organizational activities, with a particular focus on ensuring that the organization catalogs and complies with contractual and regulatory requirements.

The position requires applying a proactive project management style approach in a legal and compliance setting, in an organized and well-planned manner, with close attention to detail. This includes collaborating closely and cooperatively with various departments on a wide range of matters. The position will interact with staff of varying seniority, including executive level personnel and will involve the appropriate treatment of confidential materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Working closely with the Deputy General Counsel, other members of the Legal Department, and members of other departments on a variety of compliance-related matters, including responsibility for:
    1. Documenting, organizing, tracking and working to maintain organizational compliance with obligations arising out of contractual and regulatory requirements.
    2. Documenting, organizing, tracking and working to maintain compliance of third party vendors with obligations arising out of the organization’s contractual and regulatory requirements.
    3. Coordinating the gathering of information necessary to respond to compliance obligations arising out of contractual and regulatory requirements (including external audits, risk assessments, and attestation requirements) and preparing and organizing related materials, both from the organization and, where necessary, from third party vendors.
    4. Performing other tasks and duties as assigned.
  1. Working closely with members of the Legal Department and other departments on contract management-related matters, including responsibility for:
    1. Engaging in preliminary reviews of certain contracts to identify variations from template language, missing clauses of importance, and otherwise issue spot.
    2. Engaging in subsequent work on certain contracts to finalize them, including version management and proofing.
    3. Supporting work by members of the Legal Department to leverage contract and compliance-related software platforms utilized by the organization.
    4. Identifying and supporting best practices in contracting, including through the use of technology and clause libraries.
    5. Performing other tasks and duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Required

  5. Proficient with productivity tools, including databases and AI.

Other Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with contracts and contract management.
  • Certification as a project manager or 1 year of experience with project management.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
