Job Description
Title: Senior Packaging Engineer (SME)
Location: Ohio - onsite
Duration: 6 months +
Job Description: Our client is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to serve as the packaging engineering SME in material science and packaging equipment within a secondary and tertiary packaging environment. This role focuses on protocol and report generation, specification creation and updates, assessing material related issues, and supporting and leading line activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the packaging engineering SME in material science and packaging equipment
  • Generate protocols and reports
  • Create and update packaging specifications
  • Assess and resolve material related issues
  • Support and lead packaging line activities
  • Partner with engineering, quality, and operations to drive technical improvements
  • Execute protocols and support qualification/validation activities

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a solid engineering foundation
  • Packaging engineering SME-level expertise in material science and packaging equipment
  • Hands-on experience generating protocols/reports and creating/updating specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to assess material related issues
  • Experience supporting and leading packaging line activities
  • Experience across a range of packaging equipment, such as cartoners, labelers, blister packs, and automated case packing
