Position Summary

Sun Solar is seeking a qualified Operations Manager to join our team of professionals. The Operations Manager will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the business to ensure projects move efficiently from sale through completion while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role serves as a key liaison between departments, helping to remove obstacles, improve processes, maintain accountability, and support the successful execution of residential and commercial solar projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operational workflow of solar projects from contract execution through installation and completion.

  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to identify and resolve operational challenges.

  • Monitor project pipelines to ensure timelines, quality standards, and customer expectations are met.

  • Coordinate communication between departments including sales, design, permitting, procurement, project management, installation, and service.

  • Serve as a liaison between customers and the company by providing updates and assisting with issue resolution when necessary.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, reports, and records within the company's CRM and operational systems.

  • Develop and implement process improvements designed to increase efficiency and enhance the customer experience.

  • Track operational metrics and provide reporting and recommendations to leadership.

  • Ensure policies, procedures, and safety standards are consistently followed.

  • Assist in resource planning and prioritization to support changing business needs.

  • Communicate project status effectively to all stakeholders and escalate concerns appropriately.

  • Audit, review, and monitor production goals established by the company.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned in support of company objectives.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of operations leadership experience.

  • Prior experience in solar, renewable energy, construction, or home services strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of solar installation practices and the solar industry preferred.

  • Ability to operate/learn to operate a forklift.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.

  • Occasional travel may be required.
