Job Description

The Sr. Accountant is responsible for the end to end accounting for the billing to cash processes for Universal+ sales across Partnerships, as well as Direct to Consumer revenues, in accordance with US GAAP across all entities within the LatAm Hub & Spanish LatAm joint venture (SPL).

Universal+ DTC is currently available in 16 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean and is currently in a growth phase, requiring strong attention to scale, accuracy, evolving operational requirements, and a keen interest in process development.

This position will report to the Finance Manager with additional support from offshore accountants.  The position also works closely with the Finance, Commercial, Product and Data Insights teams based in Miami.

Responsibilities
 

Operational Excellence

  • Responsible for the end-to-end revenue lifecycle for Affiliate Partnerships and DTC Revenue, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contractual terms, through analysis of complex contracts and transactions to assess accounting and operational implications.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely recording of all revenue entries under  US GAAP involving journal entry preparation and review, Interco management, P&L variance analysis and external contractual reporting to Partners.
  • Establish and optimize finance-related operational processes and procedures to streamline workflow, increase efficiency, and support the company's growth objectives, including developing robust reporting processes in compliance with Partnership contracts.
  • Partnering with both Finance and Commercial teams monitoring key financial metrics and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide insights to senior leadership for informed decision-making.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of this post.

Business Transformation and Project Management:

  • Drive the successful implementation and scalable processes for DTC and new Partnership launches across Latin America by overseeing all finance-related aspects of the project, including end to end process development alongside commercial, product and data insights teams
  • Develop and implement financial controls, processes, and systems to support the new platform's operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist the Manage and Director, Revenue Accounting in ad hoc finance projects such as systems implementation to drive strong controllership, simplification and automation improvements.

Finance Operations Systems Improvement & Transformation Analysis:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute projects that drive transformation and efficiencies in revenue operations and systems.
  • Conduct, where applicable, financial analysis, including revenue projections, cost analysis, and ROI assessments, to support decision-making and ensure financial goals are met.
  • Identify areas of improvement and provide strategic recommendations to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
 

  • CPA or CPA candidate or equivalent
  • 3+years of relevant experience in finance, accounting or data analytics
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex data analysis and financial modeling
  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to resolve problems independently
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency in ERP applications (SAP ECC, S/4 HANA) and Multidimensional Reporting (SAP BPC, BW/BI/AOE)
  • Ability to operate in a diverse, global environment
  • A very high standard for accuracy of reporting and consistency of control
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision
  • Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish, with work experience in international companies both oral and written; Portuguese is a plus

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders as well as collaborate, motivate and create relationships with others
  • Demonstrated experience in Finance transformation and process improvement
