Come join our team as a Principal Contract Negotiator to provide comprehensive legal support and guidance to internal stakeholders, including management, departments, and business units. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with various cross-functional teams to navigate legal contracts and mitigate risks, contributing to the overall success and growth of the company. This role requires a proactive and business-oriented mindset, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the customer contract negotiation process
  • Review, draft, and negotiate legal terms in content license agreements, services agreements, vendor agreements, confidentiality agreements, and RFP responses using company and third-party paper
  • Attend calls with internal teams, as well as customers to review agreements
  • Solve problems and respond to questions concerning contract structure, interpretation of contract terms, compliance, and policies in a timely fashion
  • Manage relationships between the sales team, internal subject matter experts, and contract administration to ensure compliance with revenue recognition rules and other company policies
  • Participate in special projects as needed with potential opportunities to develop specific areas of subject matter expertise within the Legal Department

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8+ year of professional experience negotiating complex legal documents with a Bachelor's degree 
  • Solid understanding of legal terms and contract formulation principles
  • Must be familiar with intellectual property licensing, indemnity, termination, warranties, and other remedy provisions
  • Demonstrated experience in working directly with third parties in both cooperative and potentially adversarial scenarios
  • Highly refined computer skills, including proficiency in Word and the ability to work in various databases
  • Strong attention to detail, organized, and able to make independent decisions
  • Ability to Influence as an enthusiastic communicator and collaborate with various teams within the organization
  • Possess a customer service mindset with the ability to be adaptable and embrace change

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience with privacy law
  • Licensed attorney
  • Experience in the software or SaaS industries preferred
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce and/or Ironclad
  • Experience working with sales teams and/or procurement teams

Target base salary range for this job requisition is anticipated to be approximately $100,000 - $115,000 annualized.
