We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level Software Engineer (SEG2) to support a large support services contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command.

***YOU MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE ***

Position Description: You will provide support to the Program and Deputy Program Manager of a 200-person contractor team that includes subcontractor personnel.


Work location and telework: The government work location is the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Contractors will be required to work at the Navy Yard and in nearby office locations up to 5 days a week. Teleworking may be possible with the customers' approval but will need to evolve as the work relationships evolve.


Responsibilities and Duties:

Software Engineers research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. They may also perform the following duties:

  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
  • Update or enhance existing software capabilities.
  • Work with other functional disciplines (e.g., project management, acquisition, logistics, security, etc.) to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements.
  • Maintain databases within an application area.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems)
  • 3 Years experience working with software engineering

Preferred / Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Certificates: Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience: 3 Years experience working with at least one of the following: Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience

Additional experience preferred:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Navy/DOD policy and guidance
  • System Engineering Technical Reviews
  • Technology readiness and technical performance measures
  • Combat Systems Integration and requirements decomposition
  • Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Program Protection
  • Risk Management Process

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel should be infrequent but include occasion trips to support government efforts at East and West Coast naval centric areas like Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA.
