Personal Injury Paralegal — Eight-Week Contract Assignment

Onsite | Raleigh, North Carolina | Temporary Contract Role

Hometown Recruiting is assisting a Raleigh personal injury law firm seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal for an eight-week contract assignment.

This opportunity is ideal for a legal professional who can quickly understand an established workflow, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and provide dependable support from the beginning of the assignment.

The right candidate will bring prior personal injury experience, strong organizational skills, and hands-on experience using legal case management software. The firm uses GrowPath/Jove, and prior experience with GrowPath/Jove or a comparable platform such as Clio, Filevine, Litify, or another legal case management system is required.

The Impact You’ll Make

During this assignment, you will help maintain continuity for clients, attorneys, and active cases. Your organization and follow-through will ensure case information remains current, documents are handled accurately, and important responsibilities continue moving forward.

Success in this role means integrating quickly, communicating clearly, and becoming a reliable resource during the eight-week assignment.

What You’ll DoCase and File Management
  • Provide paralegal support for active personal injury matters

  • Assist with cases involving motor vehicle accidents, dog bites, slip-and-fall incidents, and other personal injury claims

  • Review assigned files and identify outstanding documents, tasks, and follow-up needs

  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files

  • Enter detailed case notes, communications, deadlines, and status updates

  • Monitor outstanding assignments and help keep cases progressing

  • Identify missing information or potential concerns and bring them to the responsible attorney’s attention

  • Protect confidential client and case information

Client and Third-Party Communication
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients

  • Provide appropriate administrative updates and follow up regarding outstanding information

  • Respond to calls, emails, and messages promptly

  • Communicate with medical providers, insurance representatives, and other involved parties

  • Request medical records, bills, insurance documentation, and related case materials

  • Route substantive legal questions to the responsible attorney

  • Maintain accurate records of all communications and follow-up activities

Legal and Administrative Support
  • Draft routine correspondence and case-related documents for attorney review

  • Organize medical records, bills, insurance information, photographs, and supporting evidence

  • Assist with preparing demand-package materials

  • Track treatment information, outstanding records, liens, and other case details

  • Help prepare files for settlement, litigation transfer, or closing

  • Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and proper organization

  • Support attorneys and other team members with time-sensitive case priorities

Case Management Technology
  • Use the firm’s case management system throughout the workday

  • Maintain accurate notes, tasks, deadlines, documents, and case statuses

  • Follow established electronic filing and recordkeeping procedures

  • Learn the firm’s workflow quickly and use its systems consistently

  • Generate or review case-management reports as requested
