Job description

Commercial Litigation Paralegal

Location: Raleigh, NC (On-site)

Salary: $80,000 to $110,000, DOE

The Opportunity

A premier, specialized litigation practice is seeking a high-caliber Commercial Litigation Paralegal for its Raleigh office. Stepping away from the traditional, rigid paralegal pool, this role provides autonomous, substantive case file ownership. The selected professional will serve as a primary operational anchor, collaborating directly with partners on high-stakes federal and state disputes, software licensing conflicts, and patent or trademark matters.

Core Responsibilities

  • Federal & Business Court E-Filing: Direct the compilation, execution, and electronic filing of complex pleadings, motions, and briefs within the NC Business Court and federal district jurisdictions (EDNC, MDNC, WDNC).
  • Information Governance: Oversee the complete lifecycle of litigation files, organizing records meticulously by pleading, discovery tier, witness, and expert profile.
  • Docket Management: Maintain centralized case calendars, tracking strict court deadlines, scheduling orders, depositions, and downstream scheduling impacts.
  • Substantive Drafting: Generate routine litigation correspondence, deposition notices, subpoenas, certificates of service, and motion shells while executing brief cite-checking and Bluebooking.
  • Discovery Operations: Supervise written discovery workflows, organize responsive document collections, build detailed privilege logs, and manage vendor document productions.
  • E-Discovery Architecture: Administer complex data processing, review, and production protocols (Bates labeling, redactions, and protective order compliance) within modern review platforms; assist with source-code review protocols.
  • Trial Logistics & Prep: Assemble robust trial notebooks, exhibit lists, witness files, and demonstrative materials; manage courtroom technology and coordinate closely with court clerks.
  • You will support upto 4 attorneys

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 3–5 years of dedicated litigation paralegal experience, displaying extensive, substantive control over federal court actions.
  • Procedural Literacy: In-depth working knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP), North Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure, and local district court guidelines.
  • Technical Ecosystem: Advanced proficiency using modern litigation databases (Relativity, DISCO), Adobe Acrobat Professional (Bates labeling/redaction suites), and legal research engines.
  • Credentials: North Carolina Certified Paralegal (NCCP) designation or ABA-approved Paralegal degree/certificate preferred.
