Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a hospital radiology team, requiring ARRT or NMTCB registration and BLS certification.

Requirements
  • ARRT registration as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist or NMTCB certification required
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required
  • Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program required
  • GE NM 830 experience required
  • CT cross-training highly preferred
  • No prior clinical experience required
  • Must maintain registry status and annual continuing education requirements
  • License required if applicable
Responsibilities
  • Hospital-based Nuclear Medicine department
  • 24 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 3 days per week
  • 0.8 FTE contract position
  • Day shift schedule with flexible scheduling to be discussed during interview
  • No on-call, weekend, or holiday requirements
  • Uses RIS, CIS, SMS, PACS, and transport tracking systems for documentation and patient coordination
  • Perform patient identification, informed consent, and venous access for radiopharmaceutical administration
  • Document radiopharmaceutical route, dose, and administration details for charge and record-keeping purposes
  • Evaluate requisitions, charts, and lab results, and perform patient assessments including pregnancy screening confirmation for patients of childbearing age
  • Handle radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Radiation Safety Office and NRC guidelines, including receipt, documentation, and disposal
  • Perform radiopharmaceutical selection, dosage review, and quality control to ensure correct and properly recorded doses
  • Set up and perform imaging acquisitions per protocol while maintaining patient comfort, care, and safety
  • Analyze and process images for physician review and approval
  • May perform advanced duties including PET imaging or lead technologist responsibilities
  • Coordinate inpatient transport to and from the Nuclear Medicine department
