Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 1 year of acute care nuclear medicine experience and ARRT(N) certification for a day shift assignment in Southern California.

Details
  • Acute care hospital setting, Nuclear Medicine department
  • Monday through Friday, day shifts from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Shared standby rotation with one other technologist, including every other weekend
  • Procedures include HIDA scans, bone scans (3-phase, limited, whole body), lung scans, DTPA aerosol, perfusion, ventilation/perfusion studies, thyroid studies, cancer surveys, I-123 uptake scans, myocardial imaging, pharmacological stress testing, and thallium stress tests
  • Equipment includes GE, Hitachi, Philips, Siemens, and Toshiba imaging systems
  • Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of acute care nuclear medicine experience, with at least 1 year of full-time equivalent specialty experience within the past 2 years
  • ARRT(N) and BLS required; CNMT preferred
  • Valid, active CA state license required (EMSA not accepted); license required if applicable
  • Epic EMR experience required, documented in work history
  • Proficiency with GE, Hitachi, Philips, Siemens, and/or Toshiba nuclear medicine equipment
  • Skills required include IV placement and maintenance, isolation precautions/PPE, and proper storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials
  • Must be prepared to take and pass a PASS/FAIL EKG exam (3 attempts allowed)
  • Two supervisory references required for consideration
Additional Information
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone a minimum of 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • No RTO within the first two weeks of the assignment; a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract is highly preferred
  • All RTO must be submitted at the time of application and cannot be changed once the profile is under review; a screenshot confirming RTO is required
  • No blocked or self-scheduling
  • Manager may or may not conduct an interview; candidates must be comfortable with this process
