Job description

Position : Distribution Representative - Janitor
Location : Stuart, FL
Duration : 12 Months Contract
Total Hours/week : 40.00
Work Hours: 10:30am - 7:00pm
Description:
Position Purpose:
  • The Distribution Representative's primary role is to process outbound customer product shipments with accuracy, completeness, and acceptable packing conditions according to company expectations. In addition to physically receiving medical supply products from manufacturer and/or carrier delivery trucks.
  • Receiving responsibilities include but are not limited to ensuring accurate receipt and proper documentation of product for inventory control purposes with direct oversight of product delivery to the proper department.
  • The Distribution Representative will also physically receive returned medical supply products from customers with responsibility for ensuring quarantine procedures and accurate documentation of customer returns in the inventory database.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Picking product from supply inventory to complete customer orders ensuring accuracy and updates to inventory supply information.
  • Packing, Sealing, Labeling, and affixing postage to customer medical supply orders for shipping while using work devices such as hand tools, scanners, and software tools.
  • Perform shipping and receiving duties while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and acceptable packing conditions of shipments according to company and customer expectations.
  • Routing customer orders to carrier trucks using work devices such as hand truck or conveyor sorting bins.
  • Communicating with Distribution leadership to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications.
  • Receives product delivers and ensures paperwork associated with the product order is accurate
  • Records and checks quantity and quality of products received to include an inspection, acceptance, and rejection of products per the distribution receiving protocol.
  • Facilitates return of defective product to the product supplier with the facilitation of the purchasing department
  • Properly inputs received products into the database system and forwards documentation to accounts payable
  • Delivers product once inventoried to the appropriate department taking responsibly for maintaining clear pathways
  • Assist the distribution team in completing shipping duties while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and acceptable packing conditions of shipments according to company and customer expectations.
  • Receive and quarantine returned customer orders per the distribution returns quarantine policy
  • Inspects returned product to determine if suitable for return to inventory
  • Open customer product returns detailing return issues and updating the inventory database
  • Facilitates return of any defective product to the product supplier with the facilitation of the purchasing department
  • Disposes of product that contains blood or other bodily fluids in the biohazard disposal bins Wears personal protective equipment as required for the returns representative role

Ancillary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participating in general warehouse maintenance and organization
  • Operating forklift as required and within safety specifications
  • Maintains a safe work environment according to all department procedures
  • Receiving medical supply products from distributors and/or suppliers and arranging or placing in warehouse per organizational and departmental needs
  • Assists in processing outgoing mail
  • Assists with inter-office mail delivery
  • Maintains Shipping/Product Documentation
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as requested, directed or assigned.

Reporting Relationship Responsibilities:
  • No supervisory responsibilities
  • Provides work direction only
  • Provides work direction plus has responsibility for hiring, promotions, transfers, performance management, discipline, and discharge.

Minimum Requirements or Qualifications
  • Experience: 1-2 years Shipping, Receiving, and/or Returns experience in a manufacturing or retail environment and/or inventory/warehouse clerical experience.
  • Special Skills and/or Licensure or Certifications required: Entry level math skills

Work Requirements:
  • Ability to work morning, mid afternoon or evening shift as needed
  • Willingness and/or ability to work overtime hours during the week and/or weekends as needed

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a constant stationary standing position
  • Position requires frequent movement around the facility with constant work in between temperature controlled and outdoor weather conditions
  • Often operates forklift and pallet jack equipment
  • Constantly uses shipping tools such as a tape gun, stapler, pen, and box cutter.
  • Frequently ascends/descends, works on top of, and traverses a ladder in order to pick customer orders and restock supplies received
  • Occasionally moves, transports, positions, and or places medical supply shipments weighing up to 50 pounds across warehouse for various organizational and shipment needs
  • Occasionally positions self and reaches to pull medical supply shipments in the warehouse including on lower level shelving and in cramped corners/spaces.
  • Must be able to detect, determine, identify, observe and inspect medical supply product packaging, serial numbers, identification text, and supplier information within short and long distances.
  • On occasion this position will communicate with other department members that have inquiries regarding the status of a customer's supply order. Ability to exchange accurate information in these instances is needed.

Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee performs tasks in a temperature controlled warehouse environment under normal warehouse conditions.
  • The noise level in the warehouse environment is usually moderate.
  • The work environment involves moderate exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
