Job Description

We are currently seeking a contract Desktop Support Technician to be a key resource on a technical services team for our client, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

Responsibilities

The worker will have an excellent understanding of computers (both hardware and software) and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology. Performs installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computers (PC) and related systems. Troubleshoots and resolves software and hardware failures. Identifies network problems when they relate to personal (desktop or laptop) computers. Provides technical support, training, process creation, and leading various project efforts, and is an exceptional local leader and mentor to junior technicians.

Qualifications

Minimum (Required):

5 years of:

  • Experience providing end-user support
  • Experience in supporting personal computer hardware and routine software installation
  • Experience troubleshooting IT hardware and peripherals in a enterprise environment
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Productivity tools such as Office 365 and MS Teams

4 years of:

  • Experience providing โ€œwhite-gloveโ€ executive level support
  • Experience supporting video tele-conferencing solutions such as Cisco Webex

Preferred (Optional):

5 years of:

  • Experience creating technical knowledge articles
  • Working in a multi-vendor environment for support environment

4 years of:

  • Experience utilizing ServiceNow in a support environment
