Position Summary

Zedcor is seeking a motivated Junior Desktop Support and Endpoint Technician to provide hands-on technical support to employees at our Houston locations. This position serves as a frontline member of the IT team and is responsible for resolving help desk requests, answering employee support calls, provisioning computers and mobile devices, supporting Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Entra ID, maintaining technology asset records, and assisting with Axis applications and devices.


Key Responsibilities

End-User and Help Desk Support

  • Provide onsite, telephone, and remote first-level technical support to employees.
  • Receive, document, prioritize, troubleshoot, and resolve help desk tickets.
  • Answer employee support calls and provide clear, courteous, and professional assistance.
  • Troubleshoot Windows 11 desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, peripherals, and related office technology.
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and Office applications.
  • Assist users with account access, passwords, multifactor authentication, and device-enrollment issues.
  • Escalate complex incidents with complete troubleshooting notes while maintaining communication with the employee through resolution.
  • Document solutions, troubleshooting steps, and recurring issues in the help desk system and knowledge base.

Computer Provisioning and Deployment

  • Configure, provision, deploy, replace, and retire company desktops and laptops in accordance with standard IT procedures.
  • Enroll and support Windows devices through Microsoft Intune.
  • Use Windows Autopilot or other approved deployment processes to prepare computers for employees.
  • Install approved operating systems, applications, security tools, drivers, and updates.
  • Prepare computers and related equipment for new employees, transfers, replacements, and temporary assignments.
  • Install and set up computers, monitors, docking stations, phones, and peripherals at employee workspaces.
  • Verify that newly provisioned devices meet company security and configuration requirements before deployment.
  • Recover, inventory, securely wipe, and reassign equipment returned during employee offboarding in accordance with company procedures.

Microsoft Intune and Entra ID Support

  • Perform routine Intune support tasks, including device enrollment, synchronization, compliance checks, Company Portal troubleshooting, and application deployment support.
  • Assist with Microsoft Entra ID user accounts, groups, device registrations, authentication, and access-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot basic Conditional Access, device compliance, and multifactor authentication issues and escalate policy-related changes when required.
  • Support the deployment of approved software, updates, configuration profiles, and endpoint security settings.
  • Identify devices that are noncompliant, inactive, improperly configured, or missing required applications and assist with remediation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of endpoint procedures, device standards, and known solutions.

Mobile Device and Tablet Support

  • Provision and support company-issued mobile phones and iPads.
  • Assist employees with mobile device setup, enrollment, authentication, email, Teams, and approved business applications.
  • Troubleshoot cellular, Wi-Fi, application, synchronization, and device-access issues.
  • Support mobile device onboarding, replacement, reassignment, and offboarding.
  • Apply mobile device management policies and confirm compliance with company security requirements.
  • Help employees transfer approved business information and restore applications when devices are replaced.

Asset Management

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of desktops, laptops, mobile phones, iPads, monitors, docking stations, and related equipment.
  • Record asset assignments, serial numbers, device status, locations, warranties, and lifecycle information.
  • Perform periodic physical inventory and reconcile records against deployed and stored equipment.
  • Track equipment issued to new hires, transferred between employees, placed in storage, returned, repaired, or retired.
  • Coordinate warranty claims, repairs, replacements, and secure equipment disposal with senior IT staff.
  • Keep equipment storage and staging areas organized, labeled, secure, and accurately documented.

Axis and Business Application Support

  • Provide first-level end-user support for Axis technology, applications, and related workstations used by Zedcor.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of approved Axis software and devices.
  • Work with infrastructure, network, security, and operations teams when Axis-related issues require additional technical expertise.
  • Support other approved business applications and operational technology used by employees.

Required Qualifications

  • At least one year of desktop support, help desk, technical support, or equivalent hands-on information technology experience or training.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Intune, including Windows device enrollment, device records, compliance status, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, device registration, user access, groups, and multifactor authentication.
  • Experience provisioning and supporting Windows 11 desktops and laptops.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and Office applications.
  • Experience supporting mobile phones and tablets, including iPhones, Android devices, and iPads.
  • Basic experience maintaining technology inventory or endpoint asset records.
  • Strong foundational hardware, software, peripheral, network-connectivity, and account troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and respectfully to nontechnical employees.
  • Ability to manage multiple tickets and priorities while maintaining complete and accurate documentation.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, work independently on routine issues, and request assistance when appropriate.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel between the two Houston facilities.
  • Ability to lift, move, and install computers, monitors, and related equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Windows Autopilot or another automated endpoint provisioning process.
  • Experience with Apple Business Manager or managed Apple device deployment.
  • Exposure to Axis products, software, cameras, or video-management environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Conditional Access, and endpoint compliance policies.
  • Experience supporting users in a security, surveillance, monitoring, or technology operations environment.
  • CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, Azure Fundamentals, or another relevant entry-level certification.
  • Experience with IT service-management, ticketing, and asset-management platforms.
