Job description

Position: Anesthesia Technician, Perioperative Services
Location: Brockton, MA
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Days (variable start times between 6:30am to 10:30am)
POSITION SUMMARY:
To provide assistance to Anesthesia staff with patient preparation for anesthesia and surgery and help maintain organization of equipment, work room, and supplies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Technicians are accountable to anesthesia staff and the Patient Care Director to carry out all tasks assigned within the framework of their duties and communicate all essential information in a timely manner. Report potential impacts to patient safety to anesthesia staff and Patient Care Director.
  • Notify appropriate staff of changes and events in surgical area that affect the regular OR scheduling.
  • Remove and report all malfunctioning equipment to Chief of Anesthesia and the Patient Care Director.
  • Acting in the best interest of the institution and the patients under its care, report any violation(s) to patient and fellow employee(s) safety and rights.
  • Stock anesthesia case carts and all related areas.
  • Clean and maintain all of the anesthesia equipment and calibrate monitoring equipment.
  • Assist with the set-up of equipment.
  • Clean and set up anesthesia area between surgical cases.
  • Assist the staff in the insertion of invasive monitoring lines.
  • Responsible for any other duties assigned by supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: 2 years of current operating room experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Working knowledge of the Operating Room procedures.
  • Knowledge of Pxysis machine, O-2 tanks, and assist doctors. Many tasks require job knowledge or response to physician/patient needs, therefore, authority to respond to anesthesia staff needs within the framework of the technician responsibilities is given.

Compensation Range:
$16.99- $25.24
This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
