PROGRAMMING - UNREAL ENGINE
What We Do
Unreal-powered projects have been on the bleeding edge of real-time entertainment for over 20 years. Our team of programming experts are always innovating to improve the tools and technology that empower content developers worldwide.
What You'll Do
Epic Games is searching for an experienced Senior Language Programmer to join our Verse team, which owns the toolchain (compiler, VM, and runtime) powering game development in Unreal Engine and UEFN. You'll work on the systems every UE and UEFN developer relies on to build and ship games with Verse.
In this role, you will
  • Extend and evolve the Verse compiler toolchain and VM, implement new language features, integrate the toolchain into Unreal Engine's content, build, and cooking pipelines
  • Optimize performance, memory usage, and iteration times across the Verse toolchain and UE/Verse boundary
  • Establish test workflows to validate improvements and prevent regressions
  • Drive integration work in close collaboration with programmers from the Verse Language team and the broader Unreal Engine programming organization
What we're looking for
  • Excellent knowledge of C++17 or later
  • Experience in profiling and optimizing large codebases
  • Strong ability to reason about large, interconnected systems
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across programming teams
  • Ability to work autonomously and deliver practical solutions independently
  • Strength in compiler and VM internals or Unreal Engine integration (experience in both is a plus)
