Job description

About the role

Chime is building a better way to bank-one that's driven by purpose, not profit. We're looking for a Content Designer to join our Product Design team and help shape consumer-facing product experiences used by millions of members.

As part of a small, highly impactful content design function, you'll have ownership over content within the Spending, Savings & Investing pillar. You'll work with designers, product managers, researchers, engineers, and product marketers to bring clarity to complex financial concepts and ensure content meaningfully improves the member experience.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $170,000 and up to $235,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.ย

In this role, you can expect to
  • Own content design for defined product areas, driving clarity and quality across end-to-end user experiences in Chime's mobile apps and digital product surfaces.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to shape product direction through content, from early concepting through launch and iteration.
  • Write and refine clear, inclusive, and human content for product flows, feature messaging, system feedback, and microcopy.
  • Make informed content decisions within your problem spaces, contributing to naming, taxonomy, and information hierarchy.
  • Apply and evolve Chime's product voice and tone in collaboration with Design and Brand partners.
  • Use research insights, data, and experimentation to validate content decisions and continuously improve outcomes.
  • Help scale content design at Chime by contributing to guidelines, documentation, and lightweight systems that enable consistency and quality.
To thrive in this role, you have
  • Experience designing content for consumer-facing digital products, with a strong understanding of UX principles and mobile-first best practices.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end ownership, user-centered writing, and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Comfort leading content decisions in ambiguous spaces and influencing cross-functional partners through craft and rationale.
  • Ability to think holistically about user journeys while maintaining a high bar for in-product copy.
  • Experience contributing to content systems, guidelines, or scalable patterns in a product environment.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly when explaining content decisions and tradeoffs to partners with different perspectives.
