Job description

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Business Development Director to lead growth across the consumer products and packaging market.

This is a high-impact role for a commercially minded leader who knows how to identify opportunities, build relationships, and turn customer needs into profitable business. You will be responsible for developing new business, expanding Footprint's market presence, and building strategic relationships with customers and partners.

You will work closely with the Managing Director and cross-functional leaders to develop and execute growth strategies, identify emerging market opportunities, and bring innovative packaging solutions to customers.

The ideal candidate is more than a salesperson. You are a strategic partner, relationship builder, problem solver, and growth leader who knows how to move an opportunity from an initial conversation to a long-term commercial relationship.

Shape Market Strategy
  • Monitor consumer products, packaging, sustainability, and technology trends to identify emerging opportunities.

  • Partner with the Managing Director of Consumer Products and leaders across Product Development, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to develop customer solutions.
  • Bring customer insights and market intelligence into product development and commercialization decisions.
  • Coordinate customer requirements with manufacturing and operations teams to support successful implementation.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to evaluate feasibility, capacity, timing, pricing, and profitability of new opportunities.
  • Support forecasting, demand planning, and capacity discussions as opportunities progress through the sales cycle.
Deliver Financial Results
  • Meet or exceed annual revenue, sales, margin, and profitability objectives.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and maintain clear visibility into pipeline health and opportunity progression.
  • Evaluate deal economics and recommend pricing strategies that balance customer value with long-term profitability.
