What is a consumer insight analyst?

A consumer insight analyst helps a business understand their consumers or clients. Your responsibilities in this career are to perform research and collect data regarding sales trends and consumer satisfaction. You then analyze the information to identify issues or shortcomings. Your duties may be to design potential processes and procedures or merely provide reports to assist in product development, marketing strategies, sales projections, or improvement of the services of the company. You might also utilize your research to determine areas that are not currently being met by sales markets. As a customer insight analyst, you may work independently or operate as a part of a team.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a consumer insight analyst?

To thrive as a Consumer Insight Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, proficiency in data interpretation, and typically a degree in marketing, statistics, or a related field. Familiarity with tools such as SPSS, SAS, Tableau, and survey platforms, along with experience in market research methodologies, is highly valued. Exceptional communication, attention to detail, and critical thinking abilities help convey complex insights to stakeholders and influence business decisions. These skills are crucial for transforming data into actionable strategies that drive consumer-focused business growth.

What are some common challenges consumer insight analysts face when translating research findings into actionable business recommendations?

Consumer Insight Analysts often encounter the challenge of bridging the gap between complex data and practical business strategies. Interpreting large volumes of qualitative and quantitative data to uncover clear, actionable insights requires a deep understanding of both the market and the specific goals of stakeholders. Additionally, analysts must communicate their findings in a way that is easily understood by non-technical team members, ensuring recommendations are relevant and impactful. Balancing the need for detailed analysis with tight project deadlines is also a common aspect of the role.

Job description

Join BIC World, a community of brands dedicated to creating ingeniously simple and joyful products that have been part of hearts and homes for over 75 years. We are committed to growing our iconic and innovative brands by reimagining everyday essentials in new, sustainable, and responsible ways.
Our culture encourages a "roll up your sleeves and get the job done" mindset, ensuring self-starters, problem solvers, and innovative thinkers can truly thrive. At BIC World, you are empowered to take ownership of your career and use your unique perspective to make a meaningful, global impact on our mission.
At BIC, our Brand Managers are more than marketers-they are business leaders. As the Brand Manager, North America Men's Shavers, you will operate with a general manager mindset, owning the strategy, performance, and long-term growth of the Men's Shavers business across the U.S. and Canada.
You will be responsible for building profitable brands by balancing consumer obsession with commercial performance. From shaping the innovation pipeline and influencing global product development to leading integrated brand campaigns and driving execution across retail and digital channels, you will make decisions that strengthen both brand equity and business results.
Working at the center of the organization, you'll partner cross-functionally with Global Category, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Insights, and Omnichannel Marketing to translate consumer insights into winning strategies that drive sustainable growth. This is an opportunity to lead a business-not simply manage a brand-requiring strategic thinking, financial acumen, and the ability to influence without direct authority.
What You'll Do
Lead the Business with a General Manager Mindset
  • Own the strategic direction and business performance of the North America Men's Shavers portfolio, balancing long-term brand building with short-term commercial results.
  • Develop and execute multi-year growth strategies aligned with North America and Global category objectives.
  • Drive portfolio architecture, assortment, and optimization decisions that maximize consumer relevance, market share, and profitability.
  • Leverage consumer insights, syndicated data, retail analytics, social listening, and marketplace trends to identify growth opportunities and make data-driven business decisions.
  • Champion a consumer-first mindset while maintaining a strong focus on financial performance and commercial execution.

Shape the Future Through Innovation
  • Lead the North America innovation strategy and commercialization roadmap, ensuring a balanced pipeline of innovation and renovation that supports business growth.
  • Partner with Global Category teams to influence global innovation, ensuring North American consumer and customer needs are reflected in product development.
  • Own North America-specific innovation from insight generation through commercialization, including go-to-market strategy, launch planning, and post-launch optimization.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to successfully bring new products to market and continuously improve performance based on consumer and retailer feedback.

Build Brands Consumers Love
  • Develop integrated marketing strategies and campaigns that strengthen brand equity and accelerate category growth.
  • Influence global campaign development as a lead market while partnering with the Omnichannel Marketing team to execute locally relevant activations across digital, social, retail, shopper marketing, PR, influencer, and experiential channels.
  • Identify and execute strategic brand collaborations that expand consumer reach and strengthen brand relevance.
  • Lead the creation of compelling omnichannel content-including PDP assets, video, social, and digital content-to ensure a consistent and engaging consumer experience.

Influence Across the Organization
  • Serve as the strategic brand leader, aligning Sales, Finance, Global Supply Chain, Global Category, Insights, and Omnichannel Marketing around shared business priorities.
  • Support retailer strategies through strong partnership with Commercial teams and customer-focused brand solutions.
  • Manage agency and external partner relationships to ensure creative excellence and flawless execution.
  • Balance strategic planning with executional excellence in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 6-8 years of progressive experience in Brand Management, Consumer Marketing, Innovation, or Category Management within a consumer packaged goods (CPG) or consumer products environment.
  • Experience managing a business or brand with a strong commercial orientation and ownership mindset.
  • Demonstrated success leading integrated marketing campaigns, innovation initiatives, and product launches.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience analyzing business performance and making data-driven decisions.
  • Experience using syndicated data sources such as NielsenIQ, Circana (IRI), or similar consumer and retail analytics platforms.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex business challenges into actionable strategies.
  • Availability to work on a hybrid model

Annual Base Salary around USD 130,000
What Success Looks Like in This Role
Success in this role means thinking and acting like the general manager of the North America Men's Shavers business-bringing together consumer insight, commercial strategy, innovation, and execution to deliver sustainable growth.
In this role, you will:
  • Deliver profitable growth by balancing brand building with strong commercial and financial performance.
  • Build a robust innovation pipeline that reflects consumer needs and results in successful product launches.
  • Strengthen brand equity through impactful, insight-driven marketing and omnichannel activation.
  • Make data-driven decisions that improve market share, portfolio health, and overall business performance.
  • Influence and align cross-functional partners to execute against shared business objectives.
  • Foster strong relationships with global, regional, and agency partners to ensure exceptional execution.
  • Demonstrate agility, accountability, curiosity, and sound business judgment while continuously identifying opportunities to improve both the consumer experience and business results.
