Job Details:

This position supports the daily operations of a laboratory through a combination of administrative, inventory, compliance, and laboratory support activities. The role is responsible for maintaining supplies and consumables, processing documentation, coordinating equipment maintenance, supporting safety and biosecurity programs, and assisting with routine laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and manage purchase orders.
  • Receive, track, and maintain inventories of laboratory supplies.
  • Ensure consumables are stocked at laboratory workstations.
  • Maintain safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare training records.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and calibration schedules.
  • Maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database.
  • Process incoming laboratory results and certifications.
  • Maintain distribution and contact lists.
  • Perform general office duties, including filing and phone support.
  • Assist with media production/distribution and other entry-level laboratory processes as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma, vocational training, or equivalent required.

Experience

  • 3+ years of related administrative, laboratory support, inventory, or operations experience.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn and work with new software systems.

Core Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Biosecurity & Animal Welfare Requirements
  • Must comply with strict biosecurity procedures, including shower-in/shower-out requirements when applicable.
  • No jewelry permitted on site except medical ID jewelry.
  • Must agree to avoid contact with avian species (e.g., chickens, ducks, birds).
  • Must follow all Company Animal Welfare policies.
Physical Requirements
  • Regular standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, and visual inspection activities.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • Required to wear nitrile gloves when handling samples.
  • May be exposed to standard laboratory chemicals.
