Job description

HIRING: Entry Level Civil Engineer - Field Engineer / Field TechnicianConstruction Materials & Geotechnical TestingOverview

We are seeking a motivated Field Engineer / Field Technician to support construction materials testing, geotechnical inspections, and geothermal projects throughout New York City, Long Island, and surrounding areas.

This is a hands-on, field-based opportunity ideal for both entry-level graduates and experienced professionals looking to build a career in the construction and engineering industry. You'll work alongside industry experts on active construction sites, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance across a variety of projects.

Daily travel to job sites is required. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors and in active construction environments.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform field testing of construction materials, including concrete slump, air content, and cylinder sampling
  • Conduct soil density testing using nuclear gauge and sand cone methods
  • Support geotechnical inspections for foundations, earthwork, and site development projects
  • Monitor geothermal drilling and loop installation activities
  • Verify materials and construction methods comply with project plans and specifications
  • Perform QA/QC inspections and identify non-conforming work or materials
  • Prepare daily field reports, test results, logs, and photo documentation
  • Communicate field observations and project updates to engineers, contractors, and project teams
  • Coordinate with site personnel to support successful project execution
  • Maintain accurate and organized project records
Qualifications
  • Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred
  • Internship, co-op, or prior experience in construction, geotechnical engineering, or materials testing is a plus

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $40.00/hr.
