Job description

Title: Construction Project Manager
Company: Global Power Components – www.globalpowercomponents.com
Location: Milwaukee, WI (onsite 5-days/week)
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Position Summary
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects across the corporate headquarters and multiple manufacturing locations throughout the Milwaukee area. This role oversees projects from planning and budgeting through completion, ensuring all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. Projects may include office renovations, restroom remodels, facility expansions, equipment installations, infrastructure improvements, and new building construction. The Construction Project Manager will supervise Assistant PMs and coordinate with contractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple construction and facility improvement projects simultaneously.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with company expectations.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate activities between contractors, subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and provide regular project status updates.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Track project costs and approve invoices, change orders, and contractor billings.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Manage and develop Assistant Project Managers who support construction projects and documentation.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor ongoing work and quality standards.
  • Maintain project records, schedules, permits, contracts, and closeout documentation.
  • Support capital planning and facility improvement initiatives.

Required:
  • 5+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Experience managing commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or large-scale renovation projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and contractor management.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly between Milwaukee-area facilities.
  • Professional references demonstrating successful project delivery.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • PMP, CCM, or other construction/project management certification.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial facilities.
  • Knowledge of permitting, code compliance, and contractor procurement processes.
