Skilled Laborer – Build Cabins, RV Parks, Metal Buildings, and Development Projects with Heartbeat Development


Job Overview

  • Company: Heartbeat Development
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $20 to $45 per hour plus performance-based bonus
  • Location: Mount Vernon, MO and surrounding project sites within approximately 30–45 minutes
  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time
  • Project Scope: Residential, recreational, light commercial, site development, cabins, RV parks, metal buildings, quad-plexes, and property redevelopment
  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: None required
  • Preferred: Valid driver’s license, Class E or CDL a plus, bilingual English/Spanish a plus


The Opportunity

Heartbeat Development is looking for Skilled Laborers who can work across a variety of construction projects in the Mount Vernon, MO region. This is not a single-task labor role. Our team builds and improves cabins, RV parks, recreational properties, metal buildings, residential-style structures, senior housing conversions, and related site improvements.

This role is a strong fit for someone who is dependable, hands-on, teachable, and comfortable doing different types of work depending on the project. Entry-level and developing construction workers may start toward the lower end of the range. Highly skilled workers with strong trade experience, finish skills, equipment ability, or leadership potential may qualify for higher pay.


How You Will Make an Impact

  • Support daily construction work across multiple active project sites.
  • Assist with carpentry, framing, concrete, forms, roofing, siding, drywall, painting, demolition, cleanup, punch-list work, and general site tasks.
  • Help build cabins, quadplexes, RV park structures, metal buildings, and other property improvements.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and jobsite equipment safely.
  • Follow direction from foremen, project managers, and field leaders.
  • Keep jobsites organized, clean, and safe.
  • Learn new construction skills and grow into higher-responsibility roles when ready.
  • Help crews stay productive by showing up reliably and working with urgency.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Practical construction experience or strong willingness to learn and work hard.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors and on active jobsites.
  • Comfort using common hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to follow direction.
  • Ability to work across different tasks and project types without needing a narrow single-trade assignment.
  • Commitment to safety, PPE, and clean jobsite practices.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years of construction experience in carpentry, concrete, framing, roofing, metal buildings, remodeling, or general trades.
  • Experience with finish work, punch-list work, equipment operation, or multi-trade field support.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Class E or CDL.
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle or transport crew members may increase earning potential.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Military or veteran background is welcomed.
