Job description

POSITION PURPOSE:   Effectively and independently perform alltasks to ensure a safe, orderly, efficient job site.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
I.             PeopleManagement.
Maintain current knowledge of the job duties and responsibilities of all direct report positions.
Assist with recruiting and interviewing all direct reports.
Ensure the thorough initial and ongoing training of all direct reports.
Consistently communicate performance expectations to team members, and follow-up to ensure all desired results are achieved.
Conduct regular reviews on direct reports in accordance with the established performance management plan.
Address any team member questions or issues, and handle performance problems as necessary.
Communicate the company's goals, core values, current initiatives, status and vision to direct reports.
Provide feedback to management regarding team member performance.
II.           BusinessDevelopment and Client Relations.
Ensure all activities are performed in a manner which achieves the end goal of obtaining positive references from both clients and client consultants.
Identify and submit new business opportunities using the established program.
Participate in RFQ/RFP and presentation processes.
Obtain and maintain LEED Accreditation.
III.          Pre-Construction.
Assist with performing all pre-construction activities required for negotiated projects and ensuring the desired outcomes are achieved.
Assist with pre-construction efforts for competitive bids.
IV.          ProjectStart-Up.
Ensure all start-up phase activities are performed in accordance with the established process.
Assist the Project Manager with the scope and buy-out processes for critical trades.
Assist the Project Manager with developing and/or reviewing Scopes of Work.
V.           ConstructionPhase.
A.           Field Coordination.
Ensure established job site cleanliness and appearance standards are maintained.
Lead trade-specific planning and installation reviews as required.
Inspect and ensure the quality of all work performed and materials installed on job sites.
Identify and resolve any field issues.
B.           Scheduling.
Participate in the development of initial project schedules and in their regular updating.
Identify and proactively resolve any schedule risks with a focus on using methods which will be in the overall best interest of the project.
Ensure ongoing adherence to schedule activity durations and milestones for each project.
C.           Documentation.
Maintain current knowledge of the content of all construction documents.
Maintain current knowledge of the content of all subcontractor Scopes of Work, and ensure work performed meets established criteria.
Ensure the accurate and timely updating of as-built documents.
Prepare documentation as directed.
D.           Financial.
Maintain current knowledge of and ensure adherence to field-related budget line items.
Coordinate with the project team to ensure the proper authorization of additional work and/or materials.
Participate in monthly IPR development and review.
Review and approve all monthly subcontractor pay applications.
E.            Safety/Risk Management.
Ensure adherence to all standards and processes as defined in the Safety Manual and the Safety Procedures Manual.
Ensure all safety documentation is accurately completed.
Stay current with all company and/or OSHA training requirements.
Monitor subcontractor performance, and ensure the balance of the subcontract amount is adequate to complete any outstanding work.
Ensure all subcontractors have the appropriate insurance and bonds in place.
VI.          Close-Outand Warranty.
Ensure timely project close-outs in accordance with the established process.
Ensure the timely completion of all punch list and close-out activities.
Ensure the timely resolution of all warranty items.
Ensure all warranty items are tracked and resolved in accordance with established procedures.
Assist with conducting final negotiations with project owner(s) and subcontractors.
VII.         GeneralDuties.
Ensure effective communication, feedback and support between project teams and other company departments.
Actively participate in all company training opportunities in support of corporate development initiatives.
Continually assess the company's systems and processes, identify opportunities for improvement and take the initiative to recommend and implement any changes.
Take the initiative to perform any tasks which would assist fellow team members in successfully completing their duties.
Develop core areas of expertise, and assist with the training of other team members as appropriate.
Stay abreast of new technologies and industry trends, and make recommendations on potential changes which might benefit Winter Construction.
Assist with all other special tasks and projects as directed by management.
