A Snapshot of Your Day
Siemens Energy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Project Manager to join the GS NA Controls & Digitalization team in Alpharetta, GA.
In this role, the Commercial Project Manager (CPM) will oversee all commercial and financial aspects of assigned customer contracts ("Projects") from project turnover through closeout. The CPM will work together with our technical project management organization and cross-functional project teams to deliver clear, accurate, and timely commercial insights, including cost management, revenue recognition, and cash flow analysis throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include sales controlling, performance measurement, planning, forecasting and reporting, and month-end financial activities, ensuring strong governance and full commercial transparency.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Assume full responsibility for all project-related financial matters accounting, legal, tax, and foreign currency topics throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Manage and optimize project financial performance, including monthly forecasting of revenue, profit margin, and cash flow, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and contractual invoicing.
  • Prepare and maintain commercial project documentation and reporting, ensuring accuracy of financial data during execution and for regular project status reviews, while serving as the primary commercial interface with Project Management.
  • Ensure accurate project setup (including WBS), financial performance planning, and compliance with US-GAAP/IFRS, reporting guidelines, export controls, and internal controls; maintain data integrity across SAP and reporting tools.
  • Support Project Managers with change order management, contractual requirements, and risk/opportunity management; collaborate with Procurement on supplier and subcontractor terms to ensure competitive pricing and adherence to project guidelines.
  • Evaluate international business models, considering tax and export implications (withholding tax, VAT, import fees), coordinate performance guarantees and insurance requirements, and apply strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with solid Accounting and Controlling expertise.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related financial field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in a similar financial project or commercial project role; project management certification (e.g., PMP or IPMA) is a plus.
  • Proficient in SAP (including Billing and Project modules) with advanced Microsoft Excel skills, PowerBI reporting, and experience creating automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Works well both independently and in team environments, demonstrating reliability, collaboration, and adaptability.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
