Kentro is hiring a remote Configuration Manager to support our Veterans Affairs ESOM contract. The Configuration Manager is responsible for developing, documenting, and implementing configuration control plans across the SCM, CMDB, and Change Control workstreams being transitioned to the VA ESOM contract. This role ensures that configuration management processes are consistently applied, accurately recorded, and aligned with VA governance requirements throughout the transition and into steady-state operations.

Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours; occasional travel to VA sites as required. 

Responsibilities
  • Develop, document, and implement detailed configuration management plans for IT programs, projects, and tasks under transition.
  • Establish and enforce configuration control processes across SCM, CMDB, and Change Control workstreams.
  • Maintain thorough configuration records and documentation to ensure accurate product builds, part ordering, and software update traceability.
  • Identify configuration issues as they arise during transition and implement corrective solutions in coordination with architects and the PM.
  • Collaborate with the CMDB/CSDM Architect to ensure configuration data aligns with the ServiceNow CMDB data model and CSDM standards.
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining complete and accurate configuration baselines and change histories.
  • Produce and maintain configuration management documentation including plans, baselines, status accounting reports, and audit findings.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of business analysis experience on federal IT programs, with at least 3 years in an IT service management or platform operations context.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent. An additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the education requirement for a total of 13+ years of relevant experience. 
  • Experience conducting cost-benefit analyses and presenting tradeoff assessments to senior government stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of IT service management concepts (ITSM, CMDB, Change Management) in a large enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data and operational information into clear, executive-ready deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience on VA IT programs or within the Department of Veterans Affairs enterprise.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow SPM, CMDB, or Change Management modules.
  • CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent business analysis certification.
  • Experience supporting POAM management or federal compliance review activities.
