Job description

Overview
Bailiwick is currently seeking a Configuration Lab Technician to contribute to our ongoing success and growth. This position will require commuting to our office in Shakopee, MN.
The Configuration Lab Technician will be responsible for working on multi-customer, multi-vendor configuration projects as an individual or part of a team. This is a technician role in a light industrial I.T. warehouse environment. The position is responsible for the preparation, setup, configuration, testing, consolidation, and packaging of customer equipment required for both major configuration rollouts and small scope maintenance work. The Configuration Lab Technician works to ensure configuration projects are delivered on-time, within budget and at 100% accuracy. The position will be involved in data entry for status and reporting information. This position may work closely with the Project Management Team(s) and Warehouse Team to ensure project goals are met.
Your Impact
The essential functions of this position include:
  • Follow detailed specifications for the setup, configuration, and testing of customer equipment
  • Assist as needed with the daily maintenance, clean-up and organization of the Configuration Lab including lifting and packaging of boxes
  • Set up a variety of equipment types for configuration and testing (including PCs, peripheral equipment, servers and network equipment)
  • Configure customer equipment as appropriate to projects
  • Complete customer configuration check-off lists to ensure 100% accuracy of configured devices and shipments
  • Track and record inventory required for projects
  • Prepare configured equipment for shipment
  • Data management involving configuration status, schedules and project deliverables
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the customer's configuration process which may involve professionally interfacing directly with customers to gather configuration information as needed
  • Document and troubleshoot vendor equipment exceptions (DOA and damaged)
  • Participate in project-related meetings as needed
  • Assist with job status reporting via Microsoft Office and other Bailiwick tools

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-year technical degree in related field or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • Minimum 1 year related experience
  • Basic PC and other IT equipment troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of various Microsoft operating systems
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite tools
  • Exposure to technical (LAN/WAN) environments and understanding of basic terminology and functions
  • Prior experience or familiarity with ERP software applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills including the ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments
  • Ability to accurately track, troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Enthusiastic with exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to manage one's own time effectively (self-starter)
  • Physically able to lift PCs, servers, peripherals and network equipment
  • Configuration Lab experience a plus
  • LAN/WAN certification(s) a plus
  • Microsoft Certifications a plus
  • CCNA or other related certifications a plus

Position Specifics
The initial base salary range for this position is expected to be between $21.00 and $23.00 hourly. The final base salary offered will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, depth of experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, our compensation package may include other components such as commissions and discretionary bonuses.
